JD Performance opened in 1999 as a part-time side business. Dave’s goal was to create an A-arm kit with the same high quality and better pricing than the big-name aftermarket companies.

 

During the late 80's and 90's, Laegers in Southern California produced the top racers frames. Dave was responsible for welding and fabricating these frames. ​In 2002, Suzuki, Honda, Yamaha, and other companies started producing race ready 4-stroke quads.  The ATVA designated all pro racers must use a production chassis.  This minimized the need for aftermarket chassis.

Dave left Laegers after 10 years, to focus fulltime on JD Performance. JD Performance has earned one of the best reputations for quality and price.
